amy smallAT’s editorial assistant Amy Marwick first appeared on the scene for a week of work experience, but we loved her so much (and her tea was so good) we demanded she came back. She now writes features for the magazine, news for the website and still makes a jolly good cup of tea.

Originally from Edinburgh, Amy spends her winters in Switzerland to pursue her favourite hobby – skiing of course – but she’s also into running and she’s getting into climbing. And if she’s not doing any of those activities, you’ll probably find her getting seriously involved in a jar of Nutella…

Alun
Alun DaviesPublisher and the Big Boss Alun Davies created Adventure Travel magazine 15 years ago as an excuse to write about what he loved doing. Since that first Pro-Plus-fuelled edition back in 1995, Adventure Travel’s gone on to become the longest-running outdoor title in the UK.

Nowadays, Alun’s hung up his ice axes and swapped them for a new passion – adventure motorcycle touring. And as is tradition, he’s launched a magazine and website about this too: check out AT’s sister site www.adventurebikerider.com.

When he’s not launching magazines, travelling or taking Pro-Plus, Alun’s an avid Cardiff City fan. He also likes Guinness, Fleetwood Mac tribute bands, and is working on turning his kids into the next generation of explorers.

Rosie

Adventure Travel editor Rosie
Editor Rosie Fuller joined the Adventure Travel team in late 2009. Before then she worked on magazines about everything from guns and archery to weddings and erotica (that’s a posh way of saying porn), which she feels set her up well for life at AT.

Rosie loves travelling and adventurous sports, and her favourite trips so far include wild camping in Norway, planting trees in Australia and travelling round South America. She also blagged an exchange year to Austria when she was a student, to study, er, skiing. Closer to home, which wherever possible is her tent, she’s equally happy hiking, surfing and cragging all around the UK.

Rosie has an inexplicable fascination with farm animals, pressure washers and cars that don’t work. She wasn’t raised by wolves, but she did run away to join them when she was 16.

Vicki

vickiAdvertising sales extraordinaire Vicki Neal’s first edition of Adventure Travel was number 74 – and back in those days she was Vicki Hurley. Vicki doesn’t mind adventure travelling, but she thinks lying on a beach with a mojito is a much more sensible option.

Before she worked in sales, Vicki was a bluecoat at Pontins and then a family entertainer for Thompsons, so she does a mean rendition of Starlight Express. Make sure you ask nicely when you phone up.

Vicki also has the improbable talent of being able to sell advertising space with a beagle on her lap. We can only watch in awe.

Louie the adventure dog

Louis the Adventure dog
Every decent office should have a dog, and as the Adventure Land offices are more decent than most, we usually have two. But as Josie’s off having puppies, Louie gets the prime slot.

Louie loves walkies, treats, plastic bottles and he’s recently revealed a penchant for Sky remote controls. When he’s not off playing, he’s even been known to help out by answering the Adventure Travel telephones…
