polar vision 1Polar Vision is a four-man team on a 600-mile trek to the South Pole, something made even more impressive as one of the team members, Alan Lock, is so severely visually impaired he’s been legally declared blind. You can read a full news story on the expedition here, and at the end of last week Adventure Travel spoke to the team in Antarctica (Alan, his team-mates Richard and Andrew, and their guide Hannah) via sat phone. Baruntse_summit_ridge_at_7000m_NepalNineteen-year-old Ed Farrelly has travelled to and climbed some pretty big mountains around the world, including Chapayev (6,300m) in Kyrgystan, Mera Peak (6,400m) and Baruntse (7,100m) in Nepal, where he became the youngest ever summiteer, aged just 18.

He's only recently returned from an epic expedition to Aconcagua in South America where his trip was struck by tragedy with one of his team left dead, and four others, including himself fighting frost bite. In 2012, at the age of 20, Ed hopes to become one of the youngest people to summit Mount Everest (8,848m).

Becky_BellworthyNineteen year old Becky Bellworthy is about to set off to Nepal to attempt to summit Mount Everest. It's taken her two years of preparation, and almost constant work to try and find a sponsor, but last Friday (25 March) delivery company DHL stepped in to offer funding, so the 'DHL Everest Expedition' will go ahead this May.

If Becky's summit bid is successful, she'll become the youngest British female to stand on top of the world; three years younger than the current record holder Bonita Norris. I talked to Becky to find out what's made an average teenage girl from Romsey, Hampshire, want to climb the highest mountain in the world?

I think I'm developing a man crush on this guy. I seem to want to write about him all the time.

We recently featured Ueli in Adventure Travel magazine's 'Blow your mind' article for his speed solo ascent of the north face of the Eiger, and I think he deserves something most people can only dream of having: a profile on the AT website.
