1) Catch a game at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, or as its known by locals, the MCG. Stop by and watch a cricket match, a soccer game or a game of AFL. Australians are famous players of this sport and it’s not too hard to pick up the rules if you’ve never seen it before.
2) Explore the Melbourne Museum. Admission in Melbourne Museum is only $6 and it’s free for children ages three to sixteen years old. The Melbourne Museum is closed during Good Friday and Christmas. The Melbourne Museum will give you a real view Melbourne’s history and it is educational too. Children love this place especially the happy atmosphere. It covers a wide range of subjects from science to technology. Don't forget to take some photos for a memento.
3) Check out Chapel Street - South Yarra. Chapel Street in Melbourne is a famous street where you shop at boutiques and discount shops. There is a long line of cafes, restaurants and Melbournians clothing stores for you to check out.
4) Visit the eerie and historic Old Melbourne Gaol. This is where Ned Kelly was hanged. He was a legendary figure in Melbourne. This place is known to be haunted, not by Ned, but his mother, who was supposedly waiting for her sons to come back. Legendary or not, this is a historical place built in the 1800’s and has been restored by the Australian Government and is now known to be one of the famous tourist spots in Melbourne.
5) Last but not the least, visit the Queen Victoria Markets. This is a place where you can collect your tourist mementos like Didgeridoo, Crocodile Dundee hat, stuffed wallabies and kangaroo toys, and lots of things besides. You can also check out clothes, food, books and more. This is a place where you can see lots of bargains. If you want to buy some memorabilia of your Melbourne holiday, this is the place to go.
