A brother and sister from Australia are planning to walk a 300km route through Thailand that was once marched by Prisoners of War in the Second World War.
Rachel and Luke Norwell, 29 and 25, were inspired to do the journey when they filmed a documentary about Stan Carlyon, an ex-PoW who worked on the Thai-Burma Railway.

Keswick Mountain Festival is back this May for its fifth year, and it’s looking to be the biggest and best yet.
The festival features something for everyone, with stacks of events both indoors and out. The speakers programme has more celebs than the latest edition of Heat, with the line-up including Sir Chris Bonnington, Ray Mears, cyclist Mark Beaumont and adventure film-maker Alistair Lee. But it’s not just about sitting and listening – if you want to get and about in the glorious Lake District, there’s lots on too.

Lightweight gear manufacturer GoLite has launched a new, lightweight rucksack which it claims is 'the industry's lightest hip and back adjustable pack'.
Weighing in at roughly 2kg, the Terrono is likely to appeal to just about anyone who's going to be lugging a big, heavy pack around and wants to minimise weight as much as they can.
But it doesn't come cheap and you'll be looking at forking out £200 for the 70l version, or £225 for the 90l.

Marmot, a company well known for their quality mountaineering products, has announced the launch of two new sleeping bags. And they claim that they're 'simply the most technologically advanced bags on the market'.
The two new sleeping bags, the Plasma 15 and the Plasma 30, are being launched this Spring and Marmot claim they'll offer the best warmth to weight ratio as well as be the 'lightest most functional bags possible'. However, this comes at a price. Retailing at £360 and £400 they might be out of the average adventurers budget.
